Blowguns
A Blowgun is a simple weapon consisting of a small tube for
firing darts. The wielder blows into one end of the Blowgun, forcing
the dart out the other end. Its propulsive power relies on its
user's lung capacity and the strength of his diaphragm muscles.
The Blowgun, like the Fighting Staff, has been used
for centuries as a weapon by indigenous
tribes in South America and South East Asia where Blowguns
are used to hunt small game.
North American Cherokees made Blowguns out of river cane and
used them to
hunt rabbits and other small game.

Blowgun + Fighting Staff
= The
Frisbie Staff TM

The Frisbie Staff is the creation
of Ben Frisbie, a Master Craftsman, a long time Blowgun enthusiast and a
student of martial arts for decades, who recognized that
combining the Blowgun and the Fighting Staff created a better and more
useful weapon.
Most Blowguns on the market
today are made of cheap imported light weight
aluminum. The aluminum is soft and easily bent.
Once that happens the Blowgun is rendered worthless.
Additionally, the lightness of the aluminum makes it
difficult to accurately aim the weapon because it has no
mass for stability. It also makes it very susceptible
to being blown about by even the lightest breeze.
Ben's first
blowgun that he got when he was about 10 years old was 37.5
caliber and 5.5 feet long. Having become a trim carpenter and
master craftsman he realized that he could engineer a wooden sheath
around the aluminum to make it heavier and more stable while
firing and to make is strong enough to withstand the rigors he
put it through similar to his work with the Aikido Jo
staff.
Please take a
look at the Blowguns page to see the other refinements
he has applied to make The Frisbie Staff a truly unique
multipurpose weapon. Request a quote on our quotes page
